As different new games are released from time to time, many new updates are also coming ahead. One such update has been announced by Gearbox, according to which Borderlands 4 will be delayed for Nintendo Switch 2.
This is going to be a a setback for players as they might have been waiting for the game to release on the given platform. Please note that it was on October 3 when Borderlands 4 was originally proposed to launch.
The makers planned a well deserving strategy where it was finalized that Borderlands 4 will be launched on platforms like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
Even though, the game was not launched, it neither has a new release date as well. This is where fans might be disappointed.

While confirming the unintended delay of Borderlands 4 on Nintendo Switch 2, Gearbox finally posted the same on X. They stated that they are still committed to present the best possible experience to fellow players across the globe. They further stated that they find a need for the game to have some extra polish or development in the due course of time.
Now, as per the policy of Nintendo, those who have pre-ordered the game will be automatically cancelled. In case, this is not done manually, it will be carried out automatically right from September 26. In case, if anyone has pre-ordered the game, Gearbox has advised them to contact to their concerned retailer.

The post by Gearbox further clarified many other things in support of the delay. One of them was about the addition of cross saves. It was basically a feature that was not present when Borderlands 4 was first launched on different platforms. This feature won’t be available for those players who have already completed their sole playthrough on Nintendo Switch 2.
Instead the newly added feature will be available for those who started the game on some other platforms and not on Switch 2.
Still, the biggest issue for fans is that Gearbox has not provided an alternate release date for Borderlands 4 on Nintendo Switch 2. They have just stated that it will be announced when all the underlying plans get adjusted.
As per the new update, Borderlands 4 faces yet another frustrating snag in its post-launch strategy with this new development. There is other side of it according to which the game offers an excellent performance which makes it the most desired game for players.
As the launch of the game on Nintendo Switch 2 is going without posing any major issues, it allowed Gearbox to consider all the new updates on content which is still to arrive.
