Ever since the concept of AI was introduced, it has changed the entire perception among users. Today, with the help of AI, you can sort out your work easily by saving a lot of time.
But now, we also witness how AI is becoming a point of conflict. It all happened when renowned gaming studios like Aniplex, and Studio Ghibli have messed up things on AI.
To be precise, both the studios are known to have banded together against the over use of AI which is mainly OpenAI along with its Sora 2 creation suite.
Sora 2 is PRETTY good at anime fights

The problem seems to arise after some videos featuring characters like Demon Slayer or Dragon Ball went viral. Looking at the issue, Sam Altman, who’s the OpenAI CEO noted that he got surprised by how strong and deep the link is between AI users and Japanese media. It resulted in a request from CODA to take two actions from OpenAI:
- In regards to Sora 2 operation, CODA requests that its members’ content is not used for machine learning without their permission
- “OpenAI confirmed its intention to engage constructively with CODA member companies and respond sincerely to copyright infringement allegations linked to Sora 2’s content.”
If you look at the terms and policies of using Japanese copyrighted content, then you need to take prior permission before you go ahead with such a thing. This automatically meaqns that in no circumstances you will be allowed to avoid responsibility for any infringement issues raised through future objections.
Japanese Authorities Confirm Earlier Outreach to OpenAI Seeking Partnership on AI Issues
Within a short timeframe, there was a second request came from Japan. It all happened in the month of October when the concerned minister simply urged OpenAI to respect the copyright of others. The country is quite serious about such an issue and calls them as “irreplaceable treasures”that directly represents the pride of Japan.
Now, it’s going to be a matter of time to see if OpenAI follows all the guidelines prescribed by the Japan to comply.
In case, if it doesn’t comply, then the most possible option will be to file a lawsuit. But at least for now, the ball seems to be in the OpenAI’s court to both follow the guidelines.
