Although, Assassin’s Creed Shadows was released on March 20, 2025, gamers are despearte for the game to get released on Switch 2. It’s now confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released only next week on Switch 2.

Well, if you think tha tthe 3rd party size of the game is going to take up a huge storage when you play the game on your Nintendo console, this is not the case.

If you are looking for the file size of Shadows, you can very well check the same on The Switch 2 store page for a download size of 62.8 GB, the port is undeniably large.

Talking about the internal storage limit of Switch 2, it has a total capacity of 256 GB. If this is the case, it means that Shadows alone will occupy somewhat lesser space which is close to 25%.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Demands Space on Switch 2, Though Not an Overwhelming Amount

The 62.8 GB download is a major reduction when stacked against Shadows’ larger installs on every other platform. T

his clearly means that Ubisoft might have been right in place to cut the storage space to a considerably lower amount. For example, if you look at the Assassin’s Creed games’ PS5 version, it comes out to be more than 101 GB.

Well, the PC version of the game comes out to be somewhere around 115 GB. You should never forget that if Shadows come live on PS5, it should occupy a storage up to 134 GB.

Ubisoft

While launching the Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Switch 2, the file size needs to be much smaller so thjat it becomes almost half as compared to its Xbox version. Given the strong Switch 2 performance of Star Wars Outlaws, thanks to Ubisoft’s work, expectations are optimistic for the Shadows port.

The real issue regarding the above is the game to work well on the Switch 2. It’s the need of the hour as big games like Shadows needs to run on consoles with an ease.

In the current scenario, Outlaws shines brightest, with its Switch 2 editions garnering near-perfect praise. Unlike the others, Elden Ring’s Switch 2 build didn’t fare well during previews, and its rollout was moved to 2026.

With the Switch 2 expecting Nintendo to support beefy third-party titles, massive file sizes are now part of the ecosystem. But Shadows doesn’t take the top spot. Final Fantasy VII Remake does.

Intergrade will finally debut on the platform in 2026, and the biggest edition will require a hefty 99 GB of free memory.
