In an unrealistic nightmare, Fortnite players are reported to have been facing issues on both Xbox and PlayStation while signing up to their respective accounts
As per the latest gaming news, Fortnite players are having a tough time to sign up to their accounts as servers continue to remain in the offline mode.
It all happened after the Simpsons mini-season launch. Soon after the update, when Fortnite players tried to sign in, they started getting an error messages like ‘Unable to sign into PlayStation Network’. The issue is coming on both xbox and playstations.
The real downtime made hundreds of players frustated which actually took place after Our Alien Overlords”, “Welcome, Our Alien Overlords” in a live event that happened on Saturday (November 1, 2025). As players are still not able to login, they are having a really tough time.
The frustation regarding the issue mounted so high that Epic games came into picture and stated that they are investigating the issue. This is what they said, “As the issue persists, we are currently investigating the real cause along with player’s reports who are trying to load into matches without equipped Outfits.
We are also investigating some other functionality issues like Friends Lists, Party invites, and Locker loadouts, to check if they are working fine.”
Before the issue existed earlier in the day, there was a tweet from Epic Games (@FortniteStatus on X) stating that it will have an update v38.00.
The first instance of the outage that was reported at 11:30 AM ET and affected almost all platforms including Android, Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|, PS4, and PS5. In the very first hour, as many as 50,000 reports surfaced.
One user was quick to tweet on X, “It completely kicked me out of my entire Epic Games account and now I can’t login,” Another user added, “The servers of the Epic Games could not handle the new install of Simpsons season.”
As per the reports, it is expected that the maintainance by Epic will last several hours and till then users need to maintain their patience.
How to Fix Login and Sign-In Errors: A Step-by-Step Guide
Before doing anything, you start with checking or verifying server status. Go to Check status.epicgames.com or @FortniteStatus on X. If you see that maintainance is still going on, you need to wait as it is the quickest “fix” for global outages.
Further you can also restart the Restart App/Device: Force-close Fortnite. Also, try to unplug your router/console for at least 30 seconds and then relaunch it again.
Re-link Accounts: In troubleshooting methods, simply log out of your Epic Games account. Afterwards unlink your PSN/Xbox through account.epicgames.com, and then relink. In case of PC, simply restart your Epic launcher and the try to verify files.
Try Alternative Device: Try to switch right from your console to mobile or PC (Android beta via Epic Store). In case, you can see it is working, then no need to worry as the issue is platform specific (update firmware).
Contact Support: If you wish to contact to support guys, simply raise a ticket by visiting epicgames.com/help with screenshots of your error message that you have received while logging in to your account. Also, share your device info. Finally, wait for 24 hours to hear back.
Xbox and PlayStation are still to issue an official statement on the outage issue though.
